Article Summary
As the Middle East undergoes rapid geopolitical change, Iraq stands out for its cautious yet steady stability—hard-won and widely felt. That stability is powering tangible progress: new roads and bridges, broad adoption of digital commerce, Iraq’s emergence as a regional data corridor, and momentum behind the “Development Road” linking Asia and Europe. Most crucially, it’s giving young entrepreneurs room to build and compete. On the eve of parliamentary elections, the message is clear: development, investment, and an advanced economy all rest on safeguarding this stability.

As we prepared this issue, the Middle East was undergoing major geopolitical shifts that captivated global attention. While our editorial team was focused on creating content for our readers, we were also closely watching these swift changes: the fall of old regimes, the rise of new powers, and a whole region in turmoil—with one notable exception which is Iraq.
Iraq has navigated this period with the careful but steady steps of someone walking through a minefield, like a person holding a precious child close. This "child" represents Iraq's stability and security, the promise of future growth, and, most importantly, the collective dream of millions of Iraqis weary of war and longing for a better future.
We do not pretend that things are perfect, but everyone can feel the progress in stability and security. This stability is the foundation for all reconstruction and development. Without it, we would not be seeing the new roads and bridges that experts agree are essential for a modern economy.
It is also why we have seen widespread public adoption of digital commercial transactions, another key requirement for investment and growth.
Furthermore, this stability has helped Iraq become a major corridor for telecommunications data and has created a secure environment to launch the "Development Road," a project intended to connect Asia and Europe by running through the country.
Most importantly, this stability has given young entrepreneurs the chance to start their own businesses and compete in the Iraqi market with their innovative ideas and hard work, despite the challenges they face.
As we stand on the brink of parliamentary elections in the midst of this turbulent region, we feel it is our duty to remind everyone that there can be no development and investment, and there will be no advanced economy without this stability. It is a stability we, as Iraqis, must protect with our lives, especially given the immense sacrifices it took to achieve it.
